My clinical interests overlap with those of my teaching and research. I currently work, both, at the Finnish Student Health Services and at our psychologists’ cooperative Aatos in Turku, Finland. I am also a member of the Finnish Red Cross’ Psychologists’ Emergency Response Team, a group called to action during national emergencies. I also have the privilege to serve as a member of the advisory panel for the EU Centre of Expertise for Victims of Terrorism.
My main clinical focus is twofold: treating people who have undergone single or complex traumatic experiences, and the treatment of people suffering from personality disorders and/or self-harm. Additionally, I have worked with a variety of mental health concerns in primary care as well as with people suffering from severe psychoses.
My theoretical framework is integrative, with an emphasis on mentalization-based treatment (MBT). I’m currently serving as the chair of the Finnish Mentalization Association. In addition to being trained for MBT at the Anna Freud Centre in London, I also have additional training in, for example, EMDR and Cognitive Therapy for PTSD.
You can find out more about my clinical practice and contact information from here in Finnish and here of our team in English.
